World Oral health day celebration
Place: Rajiv Gandhi Government Women and children hospital pondicherry

A dental awareness programme was successfully conducted in Rajiv Gandhi Government Women and children hospital at the Hans foundation department.
The event saw a turnout of 70 parents along with their children.
The Focus of this awareness was mainly concentrated for parents of children undergoing cardiac screening.
The parents as well as the children were educated on the importance of oral hygiene and it's impact on their general health pre and post surgery.
Special conditions like infective endocarditis and it's effects were explained for them.
The Following key points were emphasised in the session:
1. Proper brushing technique demonstrated with live models
2. Educated parents as well as the children on the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene
3. Nutrition and it's impact on dental health were discussed.
4. Educated on Preventive dental care and it's benefits for the children.
The programme organised turned out to be the most eventful with both the parents as well as the children gaining insightful knowledge on their children's oral health hence keeping with this year's theme of "Happy mouth, happy mind".
