Oral Health Awareness Initiative among Factory workers in Ludhiana city, Punjab, India

Ludhiana is known as the "Manchester city" of India. The city is an industrial hub with so many migrant labour working from other states. Due to long shifts the habit of tobacco chewing is very peculiar amongst the labour.

Interns of Baba Jaswant Singh Dental College and Hospital along with the doctors of Department of Public Health Dentistry took special initiative of conducting free dental check up camps, providing free tobacco cessation counselling and convincinf the factory workers to quit the habit.

The camp was a small initiative of making the workers aware abouty th eill effects of tobacco usage.
